norman
Norman came to us at a time when we had neither the space for another pig nor the funds to build additional infrastructure. But then we received a desperate call from a father searching for a home for his beloved pig. Norman had been adopted as a therapy animal for their child with disabilities, but heartbreakingly, they soon discovered that the child was severely allergic to him. The father had reached out to every sanctuary in the area, with no luck. Rewild Refuge was his last call before turning to Animal Control, as his child’s health was rapidly declining.
We couldn’t bear the thought of Norman ending up in an uncertain fate, so we agreed to foster him. The moment he arrived, we were smitten with his hilarious, charming personality! We knew that if he could successfully integrate into our pig herd, he would have a forever home at Rewild.
Now, at just about two years old, Norman is thriving. He has formed a close bond with Maisie, Petunia, and Fiona, sharing a cozy bedroom with them each night. As one of our smaller pigs, he may be little, but his personality is larger than life—constantly keeping us entertained and making us laugh. Norman’s journey to Rewild was unexpected, but we can’t imagine our sanctuary without him!
