Paisley’s journey to Rewild Refuge began when she mysteriously appeared on someone’s driveway at just two weeks old, sick and all alone. No one knew where she had come from or how she had ended up there. The homeowners did their best to bottle-feed her, but soon realized they weren’t equipped to care for such a fragile baby. Wanting to give her the best chance at survival, they reached out to a local rescue for help.

Paisley spent several weeks in the hospital recovering from malnourishment and pneumonia before she was strong enough to begin the next chapter of her life. She was placed in foster care with a sanctuary within our rescue network, and eventually, she made the long journey from California to our sanctuary in Northwest Washington.

Gentle and quiet, yet persistent in her wants, Paisley quickly made herself at home. During her bottle-feeding months, she lived indoors and became quite fond of sleeping on the couch—so much so that she still tries to sneak back inside from time to time!

These days, Paisley prefers roaming the property in search of fresh grass and weeds, though she also loves lounging with her girl squad. And every now and then, we catch her napping in the pig beds—some habits never change!

We’re so grateful that Paisley found her way to Rewild, where she will always be safe, loved, and free to be her sweet, sassy self.
